Even though I likely developed narcolepsy in my 30's, I have just been diagnosed at age 67. I have all the symptoms except cateplexy so reading this article by Dr. Lee has been educational and helpful. I am the only person in my family to have this disorder even though all eight of us experienced the same possible causes of narcolepsy such as living with heavy second hand smoke for all of the time we lived at home. I also have ADHD a disorder shared by most in my family. We have a wide range of neurological issues, so I'm not surprised to have narcolepsy.

Again, thank you for your information, Dr. Lee. In any future editing please consider adding information about the incidence of comorbidity with other conditions and prognosis for those with this disorder. More advice about living with narcolepsy such as wearing a medical alert bracelet or necklace would be useful. More discussion about employment and socializing would be helpful also.

If you have just be e diagnosed with narcolepsy, this work by Dr. Lee will help you. I recommend it with 4 out of 5 stars. With more information I would give it a 5,

Good information.
This booklet is written by a retired physician. It contains FAQ-like lists of information about narcolepsy, and some of these lists are repeated. It also contains information about other, unrelated neurological illnesses. I think the doctor means well, and he is listing factual information, but it isn't anything I hadn't already seen online, and it didn't expand my understanding. It really is a simple guide.
